Randolph board hears water-valve failures and low-pressure complaints; plans summer valve and hydrant work

At the Feb. 11 meeting, board member Kaleb Thomson reported that a water valve at 1st West and Canyon Street is broken and said additional valves require repair.
Thomson told the board he plans to carry out valve and hydrant repairs this summer. He also said some town residents have complained about low water pressure; he will check pressure at meters and investigate what material customers’ service lines are made of to identify causes.
The report did not include a firm timeline, cost estimate or formal vote. The board discussed overdue water bills later in the meeting but took no formal action on repairs at this session. Thomson’s plan is to assess meter readings and the condition of service lines, then return to the board with recommended repair timing and any budgetary requests.
