Commissioners sign MOU with Ferndale Fire for QRU medical direction and readiness funding

Flathead County commissioners approved a memorandum of understanding March 3 with the Ferndale Fire Department to provide medical direction, training and readiness funding for the department's newly licensed non-transporting QRU unit.
Alan Brown, EMS program manager, presented the standard MOU that mirrors agreements the county maintains with other response entities and covers medical direction by county medical directors, trainings and readiness funding. Commissioners discussed cross-jurisdictional response where portions of Ferndale's district lie in Lake County and asked staff to confirm whether Lake County will provide similar support; Brown said he would reach out to Lake County to coordinate.
The motion to sign the MOU was moved, seconded and carried unanimously.
