Dickinson ISD trustees ratify resignations and appoint Jennifer Hurd as principal of Elementary School No. 8

On the principal appointment, the board introduced Jennifer Hurd and invited her to speak. "Hi. I'm Jennifer Hurd. I'm the proud principal currently at Calder Road Elementary School...I have been in education for 30 years. I have been in Dickinson for 15," Hurd said, describing her background and thanking trustees for the opportunity. Trustees moved, seconded and unanimously approved the superintendent's recommendation to appoint Hurd as principal of elementary school number 8.
The board recognized Hurd's supporters in the audience and offered congratulations. The board had no public commenters signed up for the open forum period before acting on the executive-session personnel items.
Next steps: district human-resources staff will complete appointment paperwork and announce administrative assignments formally.
