Devin Bowdrey, government relations director at DEED, told the committee the bill removes several unfunded or duplicative statutes and listed specific sections under repeal, noting the last legislative activity for some of the provisions dates to 2013. "This is just a cleanup bill of old statutes, unfunded statutes," Bowdrey said, and he offered to take questions from members.
Senators did not press for policy changes; one member welcomed the occasional clearing out of defunct laws. The committee laid the bill over for possible inclusion.
