Board notes increase in cases tied to OMS audit; audits update planned for December

Deputy Executive Director Erin T. Weaver told the Board Sept. 12 that, for the June 1–Aug. 15, 2025 reporting period, no summary suspensions or revocations were issued but there was an increase in complaints and case receipts in July attributable to an oral maxillofacial surgeon (OMS) audit conducted by the Board.
Weaver said the Board will receive an update on the OMS audit and continuing education audits at the December meeting. The Board took no disciplinary votes at the Sept. 12 meeting; Weaver emphasized monitoring and the planned follow-up report.
