Ambulance leaders seek succession plan, ask county for radio quotes; equipment price quotes recorded

At the Feb. 2 Daniels County meeting, ambulance association representatives told the Board the association recently held elections and named Michael Blomquist president, Todd Southland vice‑president and Shasta Dahl secretary‑treasurer. Todd Southland said the county had requested the ambulance service have two directors to provide a succession plan so another person could step in if the current director is unable to serve.
Southland asked whether 911 funds had previously been used to purchase radios; the clerk checked county records but the insurance spreadsheet did not clearly show the funding source. The Board asked Southland to obtain a formal quote for new radios to return to the Board for consideration.
Separately, Lee Hinkley (Ambulance) presented delinquent accounts and listed equipment price figures recorded in the minutes for Zoll devices and an auto‑pulse machine. Hinkley said Lexi‑Pol would search for grants for $7,125; Commissioner Fladager asked him to hold off on hiring Lexi‑Pol while she researches potential grants.
No motion was recorded to authorize immediate county purchase; the Board requested documentation and quotes to inform any future funding action.
