Largo commission approves consent docket, two fleet contracts and election ordinance (first reading)

City staff presented the consent docket, which included authorization to purchase replacement endpoints from CDW under state contract (estimated $203,000), repair and resurfacing of two flume slides at the Highland Family Aquatic Center through Raindrops Products LLC for $80,001 under Sourcewell contract 101625 RDP, and scope and fee approval for task order 2020‑61 for Woodbrook Drive Ditch Rehabilitation Evaluation with Environmental Consulting and Technology Incorporated for $164,823 plus an owner contingency of $26,177 (estimated total $191,000). The commission approved the consent docket without discussion by a unanimous vote.
Commissioner Holmes questioned the scope and payment structure of two fleet replacement parts and services contracts and asked whether the amounts were caps or fixed prices. Public Works staff explained the amounts represent annual spending limits under Sourcewell contracts and that vendors provide parts and, if needed, services; warranty and vendor response arrangements vary by vehicle and by dealer. The commission approved authorization to contract with Kenworth Truck Company (Sourcewell contract O32824) up to $100,000 annually and with Ford Motor Company, LLC (Sourcewell contract O80124) up to $150,000 annually; both motions passed 7–0.
On elections, staff presented ordinance 2026‑16 to establish the date of the 2026 municipal general election (Nov. 3, 2026), set a 15‑day candidate qualifying period proposed for July 16–30, allow a 45‑day earlier petition distribution period beginning June 1, set a drawing for ballot position on Aug. 4 and set Aug. 7 as the deadline for ballot language. The ordinance authorizes the Pinellas County Canvassing Board to canvass the election. The commission approved ordinance 2026‑16 on first reading and scheduled the public hearing/second reading for March 17, 2026; vote was 7–0.
