Fulton County commissioners approve payables, personnel moves and several appointments

FULTON COUNTY — The Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 16 approved routine minutes and payables, authorized personnel actions in the Domestic Relations office, and confirmed multiple board appointments and reappointments.
Commissioner Randy H. Bunch, chairman, called the meeting to order. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve the Dec. 9, 2025 Commissioners' Meeting minutes and the Dec. 9, 2025 Retirement Board minutes; both motions carried. Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve payables dated Dec. 16, 2025 totaling $281,921.91. The minutes break down the payments by fund: General Fund $214,588.09; SFC Technology Grant $330.26; Evidence Based Practice $142.50; 911 $20,705.31; Domestic Relations $50.54; Opioid Settlement Funds $46,105.21.
The board met with Domestic Relations Director Tina Gress, after which Commissioner Hann moved to dismiss a Domestic Relations employee effective Dec. 8, 2025; the motion was approved unanimously. Commissioners also agreed to advertise a vacancy for an "Enforcement Officer 1," to be posted both internally and externally.
The board retroactively approved the Retirement Board minutes and entered two brief executive sessions for personnel matters during the meeting. Other administrative approvals included retroactive acceptance of a Momentive Software, Inc. renewal for the fiscal department at $1,660.48 and approval of a Sheriff's Department request for physician services for an inmate at the Bedford County Correctional Facility; both motions passed unanimously.
Commissioner Bunch moved and the board approved an appointment of Thomas Peppernick to the Fulton County Industrial Development Authority Board of Directors for a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2027. Commissioner Hann moved to reappoint Margie McGuire (Contractor), Paula Shives (Member-at-Large), Thomas Morton (Elected Official) and Daniel Schriever (Member-at-Large) to the Fulton County Agricultural Land Preservation Board for two-year terms through Dec. 31, 2027.
The commissioners also approved and authorized public advertisement of the 2026 Commissioners' meeting dates in the Fulton County Newspaper. A scheduled DCED financial monitoring interview for 11:30 a.m. was canceled by DCED, which requested to meet with SEDA COG and the chief clerk instead. Commissioner Bunch moved to adjourn at 11:45 a.m.; the motion carried and the meeting ended.
