He cautioned that demolition and site cleanup will be a phased, multi-month process requiring assessments of salvageable materials and potential environmental or structural issues before contractors can clear the site.
Board members pressed whether Card & Associates might serve as a master developer and asked about procurement steps. Staff said the city typically solicits proposals via RFPs for master developers and emphasized that the feasibility study does not obligate the city to select Card & Associates as developer. Members urged stronger early engagement of the advisory board and noted the need to consider historical preservation if demolition proceeds.
