The Historic Architectural Review Board on Oct. 17 recommended approval of parts 1 and 2 of an ad valorem tax-exemption application for 121 Kings Ferry Way, a restored residence constructed between 1885 and 1894 and contributing to the Lincolnville National Register Historic District.
Staff summarized the rehabilitation scope, which includes exterior restoration to match original materials and selective interior repairs using salvaged and recycled materials for flood resilience (for example, recycled gym flooring used as wall panels and electrical elevated from the floor). The board commended the applicants and staff for documentation and careful adherence to the Secretary of the Interior standards.
The board approved parts 1 and 2 (qualifying property and proposed rehabilitation consistent with Secretary of the Interior standards) by vote; part 3 (final certification of completion) will be considered at a later meeting once the certificate of completion/occupancy is issued and outstanding site items (driveway pavers and landscaping) are complete. Staff suggested expediting the part-3 review at the next meeting once the final documents are ready.
