Collierville approves flooring contract for Police Headquarters and Public Service Complex

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a contract to replace flooring at the Police Headquarters and the Public Service Complex on March 9.
Public works director Josh Russell described the FY2026 budget allocation of $197,000 for the work. He said staff notified 17 vendors, 15 requested bid packets and the town received four bids. Russell identified Alexander Construction as the apparent lowest bidder; he noted Alexander had also won the painting contract, which may help schedule and coordination for doing both projects together.
The base bid covers the first floor of the Police Headquarters and the Public Service Complex. Russell described a priced alternate for replacing ceramic tile in the public services lobby; with the available budget Russell said there were sufficient funds to include that ad alternate. He said the scope will replace existing carpet and vinyl-composite tile with carpet tile in the police headquarters and luxury vinyl tile in the public services areas.
The board moved and seconded the contract award; the clerk called the roll and the motion passed by roll call.
What’s next: staff will execute the contract with the low bidder and schedule work; the presentations indicate coordination with painting work and phased installation to minimize facility disruption.
