COLLIERVILLE — The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a one‑year contract with Herbal System Incorporated for chemical weed‑control services in the amount of $139,918.05, with an option to renew for up to four additional one‑year periods.
Josh Russell, presenting for public services, said the contract covers both pre‑ and post‑emergence chemical weed controls for parks, grounds and right‑of‑way areas maintained by the town; the town has used a similar contract since 2009. Procurement staff received two bids for the base contract; an alternate right‑of‑way bid was rejected due to discrepancies.
Russell said $140,000 had been budgeted within the grounds maintenance contractual services accounts for weed control, and the proposed award fits that budgeted amount. The board moved, seconded and approved the contract on roll call.
What’s next: Staff will finalize the contract with Herbal System Incorporated and implement services under the grounds maintenance program, returning to the board if any change orders or contract modifications are required.
