Collierville board approves amendment to library design contract to move project into bidding phase

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Feb. 3 unanimously approved Amendment No. 4 to a professional services agreement for the Cairo Birch Library expansion, advancing the project into the bidding phase.

Katrina Amos Atkins, deputy talent administrator, told the board Amendment No. 4 requests an additional $153,700, including $1,400 for additional survey work, to address changes in the expansion size and finalize construction documents. "Amendment number 4 finalizes the project into the bidding phase," Atkins said, and staff recommended approval so the design can proceed to procurement.

Atkins reviewed the contract history: the original agreement, approved in September 2024, was for $743,500; Amendment No. 3 in September 2025 increased the total by $137,900 to about $900,700; Amendment No. 4 was described by staff as bringing the agreement to a fee not to exceed approximately $1,053,000.

A motion to approve the amendment was made and seconded and passed by unanimous roll call.
