Trustees also approved the membership of a naming committee for the new CTE facility. The board then voted to delegate authority to the superintendent to negotiate and execute multiple job orders and work orders under previously approved job-order-contract documents for Bond 2023 Priority 1 and 2 work. The delegation includes authority to approve changes to the scope of work provided any such change draws from the owner's contingency and does not exceed 10% of the estimated cost of the work.
On the procurement and temporary space front, trustees discussed purchasing portable buildings for use during construction. Administration advised that buying portables is more cost-effective than leasing over the long term and that some portables will be redeployed as campuses complete construction.
