The City Commission authorized a guaranteed maximum price agreement with Ajax Building Company in the amount of $1,786,116 for the Catalyst emergency operations center (EOC) parking-lot and generator-site expansion, subject to city-attorney review.
Staff said the work includes parking improvements, a generator pad, underground stormwater vaults and some interior finishes; the project also readies a pad and utility connections for a future EOC. Presenters said the team hopes to break ground in May and complete work by October.
Commissioners asked whether city staff had explored using nearby GRU parking and heard that GRU's offered pricing was not acceptable. Commissioner Wells moved approval; the commission voted unanimously to adopt the GMP.
