Commissioners approve SPLOST purchase for heavy rescue apparatus, extrication tools and multiple contracts including inmate health services

Other requisitions approved included a Mohawk Lift for fleet services ($59,720.16, CIP), vehicle lease authority up to $400,000 annually, and janitorial and security monitoring contracts (Imperial Dade $33,996; Southeastern Security Professionals $36,000).
Inmate health services: The board ratified an inmate health services contract with NAP Care for the Rockdale County Jail in the amount of $345,248.79 per month (term listed 11/01/2025–01/31/2026). The clerk and staff clarified that the $345,248.79 figure is a monthly amount.
Why it matters: Several of these purchases support emergency response capability and cybersecurity for county systems; the inmate health services contract represents a significant monthly operating expense for the jail.
