The Clinton County Legislature on Nov. 28 approved several groups of resolutions, amended a personnel resolution related to the Public Defender and tabled a proposed airport contract while committee members requested additional information.
Resolutions #937–#942 were approved as presented. Resolution #943, titled “Authorizing Multi-Year Contract with Brian F. Rabideau — Plattsburgh International Airport,” was moved by Legislator Robert Hall and later tabled after discussion in committee about possible currency exchange and ATM options; Legislator Christopher Rosenquest moved to table and Hall seconded; the motion to table carried 10-0-0.
Resolutions #944–#972, and #973–#977 were approved. Resolution #978, which amends Resolution #925 (Nov. 14, 2018) to change the approved Public Defender position from Grade 23 Step 7 to Grade 23 Step 6, was moved by Legislator Mark Dame, seconded by Legislator Robert Hall and carried 10-0-0. County Administrator Michael E. Zurlo noted the Confidential Secretary position will start Jan. 1, 2019 at Grade 4 Step 1 and said that salary will not affect the 2019 tax levy.
Committee chairs provided brief reports and announced upcoming meetings: Buildings & Grounds (Dec. 12), Children & Family Services (Dec. 4), Economic Development & County Operations (Dec. 12), Finance (public hearing on the 2019 tentative budget on Dec. 5), Health (Dec. 4), Human Services (Dec. 5), Personnel (Dec. 3), Plattsburgh International Airport (Dec. 27), Public Safety (Dec. 10) and Transportation (Dec. 10).
Before adjourning at 7:46 p.m., Legislator Robert Hall moved to adjourn, Christopher Rosenquest seconded, and the motion carried 10-0-0.
