On the county government center project, Creeby said Kevco Construction requested a $10,536 electrical change to add data and a SmartScreen in the third-floor conference room. He also described a fiber ad-alternate bid of $73,680 to bring fiber under the street from the jail and county complex; the contract’s $95,000 contingency had about $38,867 previously expended, leaving roughly $56,133 to cover additional costs. Commissioners approved the presented work by voice vote.

Permitting for the underground fiber work was described as tentatively approved, and staff said further contractor submittals to the city’s port of works were necessary before finalizing the fiber installation.
