Chickasaw County sets March 23 public hearing on proposed property tax levy

Supervisor Suckow moved and Supervisor Breitbach seconded the motion to set the hearing and to direct the Auditor to publish the Notice of Public Hearing — Proposed Property Tax Levy and Maximum Property Tax Dollars in the New Hampton Tribune (to run March 12, 2026) and the Nashua Reporter (to run March 13, 2026). The motion carried on a roll-call vote of all ayes.
The board also recorded that it would continue budget work-session activity; the March 23 hearing is the formal step for public review and comment on the proposed levy prior to any final action.
The notice publication instructions and hearing date were recorded in the minutes; specific levy figures were not included in the meeting minutes and will be contained in the published notice and proposed levy documents available from the Auditor.
