Chickasaw County approves 225th Street paving 28E agreement, awards resurfacing and pavement-marking contracts

By unanimous vote the board approved a 28E County/City Cooperative Agreement for a paving project on 225th Street along the South Industrial Park and authorized the chair to sign the agreement (motion by Breitbach, seconded by Carter). The minutes record that the motion carried on a roll-call vote of all ayes and that the agreement document is on file with the Auditor.
The board also authorized the chairman to sign contracts for the Chickasaw County Resurfacing Project LFM-122--7X-19, a project awarded to Mathy Construction on Feb. 17, 2026 (motion by Suckow, seconded by Carter; roll call all ayes). The minutes record the board’s authorization as the formal step to execute the previously awarded contract.
Separately, the board adopted Resolution #03-02-25-14 (as recorded in the minutes) to award a pavement-markings contract and delegate contract signing in Doc Express (motion by Cerwinske, seconded by Breitbach; roll call all ayes). The resolution and contract documents are noted as on file at the Auditor’s office and posted on the county website.
On insurance matters, the board voted to follow Heartland Insurance’s recommendation regarding Certificate of Insurance requirements for county contracts (motion by Suckow, seconded by Breitbach; roll call all ayes).
County Engineer Roman Lensing provided department updates during the meeting. The minutes do not record further public comment on the road projects.
The board’s approvals allow county staff to finalize agreements and proceed with contract execution and required insurance compliance.
