Supervisors OK conservation purchases including vehicle, AR sandbox and dock; discuss Twin Ponds storage and landfill update

A Howards Woods dock purchase for $12,994.82 was acknowledged; the record notes an $8,000 donation from Debra Deuell toward that purchase. The board also acknowledged a seedling planting agreement for $11,025.00 to plant seedlings in the Gillmore Wapsi area and an Iowa State Nursery seedling order for $10,350.00. Associated motions were made and passed by roll call (all ayes).
Conservation Director Chad Humpal provided a landfill update and an agency report and the board discussed plans for a storage building at Twin Ponds Nature Center; the minutes record discussion but do not show a motion to proceed with construction in this meeting.
Motions to acknowledge purchases and agreements were routine, and the board recorded each by roll call. The conservation purchases combine county funds, fund-balance support from the Nature Center Fund and private donation for the dock.
