Cramerton reappoints two Parks & Recreation members, forms nominating committees for other boards

The Town of Cramerton Board of Commissioners voted May 4 to waive the standard appointment process and reappoint Bryan Andrea and Emily Leazer to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Town Attorney Karen Wolter explained the waiver process and the Board approved both motions 5-0. Wolter said the terms for Andrea and Leazer would be backdated to Jan. 1, 2023 and will expire in December 2025.
Staff reported the town has received six applications for the Community Committee. The Board agreed that the nominating committee described in the bylaws—consisting of the Mayor, the Board liaison to the committee and the staff liaison—would review applications and recommend appointments at a future meeting. Mayor Pro Tempore Susan Neeley will serve with Commissioner Helms and Town Manager Zach Ollis will be the staff liaison for related committees as described at the meeting.
The Town Attorney also noted three current openings on the Planning & Zoning Advisory Board; Mayor Pro Tempore Neeley and Commissioner Helms will serve on the nominating committee for those appointments. Wolter said that applications for advisory boards remain on file for two years to fill vacancies as they arise.
The actions taken were procedural appointments and committee-formation steps; no policy changes or funding decisions for advisory boards were made at the meeting.
