Senate committee advances multiple appointments to consent calendar; house sends several bills to reviser

The Colorado Senate on March 5, 2026, received committee reports recommending confirmation of several appointments and moved a number of bills and appointments to the consent calendar.
A clerk reported that the Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources recommended confirmation of nominees to the Colorado Water Conservation Board, with terms noted as effective Feb. 13, 2026, and expiring Feb. 12, 2029. The clerk also read nominees for the State Board of the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund for terms expiring April 15, 2029, and for the Groundwater Commission for terms expiring May 1, 2029. The clerk presented appointees by name and basin or district representation as read on the floor.
The clerk also announced messages from the Colorado House: several House bills were passed on third reading and transmitted to the reviser of statutes, including House Bills 1026 and 1277 and other bills and amendments printed in the House Journal on March 3–4, 2026.
In addition to the appointment and transmittal items, the Senate considered Senate Joint Resolution 015 (relating to management of national public lands). A lawmaker moved to lay SJR015 over until Tuesday, March 10, 2026; the motion passed on a voice vote and the resolution was laid over to that date. Later in the session a lawmaker moved that the Senate adjourn until 9 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2026; that motion carried.
What’s next: The appointment recommendations were placed on the consent calendar for confirmation; the transmitted House bills move through the reviser-of-statutes process. SJR015 will be taken up on March 10, 2026, per the layover, and committees will address the appointments and referred bills in subsequent committee or floor sessions.
