The Clinton County Legislature approved a broad set of resolutions at its May 9 meeting, covering grants, personnel items, committee referrals and airport-related contracts.
The meeting record shows Resolutions #343–#350, #352–#361, #364–#369 and #370–#392 were approved. Among the specific items discussed earlier in committee were a Farmers' Market Promotion Program grant application (Resolution #351) that aims to increase access to locally grown food, and Personnel Committee referrals that include creation of a Director of Information Technology position (Resolution #388) and upgrading the Economic Development Director to a full-time Grade 10 position (Resolution #389). The Personnel Committee withdrew the creation of a permanent Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position earlier in committee.
Committee chairs provided routine status updates: Children & Family Services addressed Underwood Mobile Home Park, Raise the Age, the State takeover of Medicaid, the Family First Prevention Act and homeless housing. The Plattsburgh International Airport Committee reported interviewing three firms for Fixed Base Operator services and recommended related actions that were placed on the agenda.
The Legislature also carried a motion to waive Rule 13.2 during the session. The full consent of the floor covered many routine approvals; administrators and committee chairs will handle follow-up implementation tasks.
