Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts announces Decentralization Grant awards to local communities

At the Feb. 28 Clinton County Legislature meeting, Kathy Recchia and Christine Pouch of the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts announced the program and local awards funded by the New York State Council on the Arts.
Recchia said the Decentralization Grants support community arts and arts education and that "the maximum award for each grant is $5,000." She reported that Clinton County received $21,300 in grant funds and that the Decentralization Grant Awards Ceremony would be held April 28 at 2 p.m. at the Plattsburgh Public Library on Oak Street.
Christine Pouch, the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts executive director, explained that the center receives state grants and re-grants funds across four counties (Clinton, Essex, Franklin and Hamilton) and urged continued advocacy for arts support. The Legislature received the announcement during the meeting’s public-comment/announcements portion; no legislative action on the grants was recorded in the minutes.
