Parmer County approves renewal with Texas Association of Counties for ACA reporting

Sharon May, Parmer County treasurer, presented the renewal and said the ARTS arrangement allows TAC to email required IRS forms to county employees at no cost to the county; she added the other alternatives examined would have increased county costs. Commissioner Kirk Frye moved to approve the renewal; Commissioner Charles Wilkins seconded. The motion passed by a majority vote.
The renewal was presented as an administrative service for ACA compliance rather than a new benefit program; the county record does not specify a dollar value for the agreement or which alternatives were considered. The court’s approval authorizes county staff to proceed with the TAC ARTS arrangement for distributing IRS forms to employees. The meeting adjourned at 10:14 a.m.
