Sharon Padgett, acting chair of the Gaston 2040 steering committee, and Leslie Lee, executive director of Gaston Together, presented an update to the Town of Cramerton Board of Commissioners on March 16 about the ongoing Gaston 2040 regional planning initiative.
Padgett and Lee outlined how Gaston 2040 intends to form topic teams to take action in focus areas and identified ways municipalities can support those teams—such as coordinating with local chambers of commerce and helping recruit community volunteers. Board members asked questions about how Cramerton could participate and how the town might assist in identifying residents who are a good fit for the teams; the presenters said town support and volunteer engagement would be welcome.
The presentation was informational; no formal action was taken. Staff indicated the Gaston 2040 materials were included in the meeting packet for further review.
