Kramer said the partnership could allow the shelter to remain operationally distinct from animal control while still ensuring Animal Control Officers retain law-enforcement backing to perform their duties. She told the board the group has reached out to individuals and foundations and has received some support.
County Manager Warren Cabe introduced Kramer and said the proposed partnership could shift some project funding responsibilities off the county. The board discussed the proposal but did not vote or take formal action; no timeline or specific contract terms were presented at the meeting.
The presentation followed public comments that included support for Pawsitive Shelter Volunteers and preceded other old-business items. Commissioners did not commit to a next step at the Oct. 14 meeting.
