Lavaca County Commissioners voted Jan. 12 in Hallettsville to accept several philanthropic gifts, approve interlocal agreements and complete routine finance and permit items on the consent agenda.
The court unanimously accepted donations from the Dickson-Allen Foundation totaling $172,000: $150,000 to Lavaca County EMS, $12,000 to the Lavaca County Historical Commission and $10,000 to Records Retention/Archives (the “Press Gang”). Sherifff Steven Greenwell also presented and the court approved a separate $1,000 donation from Lake Robertson III to the sheriff’s office. “I make a motion to approve,” the court recorded as motions were offered and seconded for each donation.
The court approved an MOU between the Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office and the Southern District of Texas and agreed to an intercounty contract with San Patricio County for juvenile detention services. Tax Assessor-Collector Deborah Sevcik presented and the court approved a County Boat Agent Agreement with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
