Fulton County approves $230,699 grant for 911 upgrades and hires per‑diem dispatcher

Fulton County Commissioners on Dec. 30 voted unanimously to accept a State Interconnectivity Grant totaling $230,699.51 to support upgrades and maintenance of the county’s 911 systems. EMA/911 Director Brian Barton presented the grant package.
The grant was approved to fund a set of projects explicitly listed by the director: SouthCentral Mountain CAD Maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain CHE Maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain ESInet Maintenance, Fulton NG911 GIS Maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain Battery Upgrade, and Fulton ILEC Maintenance. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve and execute the grant; the board approved the motion with all in favor.
In related personnel actions, the board approved hiring Troy Wagaman for the position of per‑diem 911 dispatcher, effective pending required clearances. A brief Salary Board meeting at 9:48 a.m. set the dispatcher’s salary. HR Administrator Mary Huston was present for the personnel matters.
The board entered executive session later in the meeting to discuss personnel matters and adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
