DHS: 'Pillars of the Community' in Crossett to close; nine Living Choices waiver clients being transitioned

"Before you is our monthly letter, dated March 3," Secretary Janet Mann said, then added that an assisted‑living provider had announced closure on March 13 and DHS was working with the facility and families. Director Hill identified the facility as the Pillars of the Community located in Crossett and said DHS staff and the facility are working with nine Living Choices waiver clients to transition them to locations of choice or other appropriate settings.
"We have 9 clients that are Living Choices waiver clients in the facility," Director Hill told the subcommittee and said DHS field nurses and RNs are working with families and the community to move residents over the coming weeks.
Committee members asked about timetables and whether providers have been timely in submitting cost reports; DHS said the current cost‑reporting period runs through April 30 and the contractor compiles reports as data arrive, with DHS expecting a report for the secretary’s office for review prior to the end of the fiscal year if providers file timely.
No formal vote was taken; DHS said it will coordinate individual transitions and asked legislators to expect follow‑up information about the affected residents and any state actions needed to support placements.
