Clinton County Legislature approves batch of resolutions, including Motorola radio-system contract

After committee reports and the budget adoption, the Clinton County Legislature approved a broad slate of resolutions on Dec. 13, 2017, including personnel actions, equipment contracts and administrative transfers.

Resolutions #964 through #972 were approved by the Legislature. Resolution #973 (amending earlier personnel resolutions to create two permanent, part-time police dispatcher positions in the Sheriff's Department) was carried after County Administrator Michael E. Zurlo reported the requested language had been incorporated. Resolution #975 authorized agreements with Motorola Solutions, Inc. for purchase and maintenance of equipment to upgrade the Clinton County interoperable radio system; Legislator Samuel Dyer commended the Motorola representatives and described the contract favorably. The Legislature carried Resolution #975 by voice vote (10-0-0).

Other actions included Resolution #1009, which authorized the county treasurer to decrease and dissolve the petty cash account for the Board of Elections after the board advised it no longer needed the account, and Resolution #1018 authorizing the transfer of landfill revenue to the general fund consistent with the 2018 budget. The body also waived Rule 13.2 (motion carried) to allow immediate consideration of Resolutions #1022 through #1038; those resolutions were approved as polled.

Several resolutions were polled onto the agenda following committee recommendations. The session included routine committee scheduling items, liaison reports (including Clinton Community College commencement) and a motion to enter executive session to discuss pending litigation. The Legislature entered executive session at 7:45 p.m. and exited at 8:28 p.m., then adjourned at 8:29 p.m.
