Frenship ISD trustees paused regular business to recognize high-school athletes who earned academic All-State honors and to thank the community for a successful districtwide fundraiser.
Tiffany Taylor introduced the awards and noted the recognitions are granted by the Texas High School Coaches Association and the Texas Girls Coaches Association. Head cross-country coach Sean Allen congratulated the athletes, naming Ashley Griffin as the THSEA elite academic all-state awardee and listing first-team and honorable-mention honorees.
Head volleyball coach Amy Mangum praised her players’ leadership and classroom performance and identified multiple All-State honorees by name.
Taylor also reported on the district’s 'Cheddar Together' fundraiser in partnership with the South Plains Food Bank. She said the goal was $28,800 — described in the presentation as enough to fill a semi with mac-and-cheese for 82,000 boxes — and that an anonymous donor pledged to finish the remainder after $10,000 was raised. The community response allowed the district to reach and surpass the goal.
Board members and coaches gathered for photos and the board moved on to the evening’s consent and action items.
