Frenship ISD approves $32.8 million guaranteed maximum price for North Elementary No. 10

Frenship ISD trustees approved a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $32,808,698 for the district’s new North Elementary No. 10 and heard a construction update on several campus projects.
District staff introduced the project design and construction team, and the presenter described the planned facility as a 115,000-square-foot building with classrooms, an office suite, a competition-sized gym and the storm shelter now required by building code. The project will be located on the northern side of the district near Alcove.
The board received the GMP recommendation and took a voice vote after a motion by Tyler Haines and a second by Jamie Phillips; Chair Miller Ford declared the motion carried.
During the construction update, Kevin Cockle reported progress on multiple projects: Memorial High School and the athletic complex (a large, 80-acre campus with extensive punch-list and irrigation work), drainage improvements and a new concrete swale at Frenship Middle School to route water to a retention pond, completion of playground work at West Wind (north side rye grass established), and KC fleet parking improvements including subgrade work, awning piers and recent slab pours. Cockle noted weather had allowed continued progress on these projects.
Board members thanked staff and the construction teams for the work. The approvals advance the district’s capital program funded in part by the district’s 2025 bond issuance.
