The Lake Travis ISD board approved multiple procurement and construction awards during the meeting.
Child Nutrition assistant director Marissa Bell described the recommended award for RFP 26‑007 to Mission Restaurant Supply for replacement of Lake Travis High School cafeteria serving lines. Bell said five of six lines will be upgraded and that the improvements will support scratch‑cooking initiatives and "help us with our service model to be able to offer, fresher foods on the line," including expanded cold‑holding for fruits and vegetables. The board approved the award (motion by Keeley; second by Phil).
Trustees also approved awarding the construction‑manager‑at‑risk contract for Lake Travis High School fire‑alarm upgrades to American Constructors. Administration said one node had been completed previously and the project will replace devices, cabling and lighting across the campus and connect the annex.
Finally, the board selected American Constructors under a Job Order Contract (JOC 23‑134) to complete ADA and playground improvements at Lakeway Elementary (project scope includes retaining walls, fencing, benches and accessible routes). The board approved that selection and acknowledged the project exceeds $100,000 and therefore was brought to the board for formal approval.
Each motion carried after brief trustee questions about vendor experience and timelines. Administration said bond proceeds are funding many capital projects and provided a status update on series 2018, 2022/23 and 2024 bond spending during the financial report earlier in the meeting.
