Board approves renewal of Lake Travis ISD’s 'Advanced Legal Skills and Professions' innovative course

A presenter explained the Texas Administrative Code allows districts to author state-approved innovative courses and recounted that Lake Travis ISD authored this course in 2020. The presenter told trustees the course has been offered in five of the last six years and has served 74 students in Lake Travis ISD.
A trustee moved to approve the renewal application and the motion was seconded; the board approved the renewal by unanimous voice vote as recorded by the chair.
The approval allows the district to continue offering the course in 2026–27 and to permit other districts that adopt the course to provide the same curriculum. Trustees praised the district’s catalog of innovative courses and noted the experiential, hands-on learning opportunities they provide.
