Ware County commissioners close hearing on rezoning request for 2590 Cactus St.

Interim Planning Director Dustin Minchew presented the request to rezone the property from A-Agriculture/Forestry to C-2 Highway Commercial. The application, submitted by Jesse Guy, seeks to use the parcel for storage of vehicles intended for sale at GTE (formerly Guy’s Automotive). No members of the public spoke in support of or opposition to the request when the chairman solicited comment.
Commissioner Leonard Burse moved to close the public hearing; Commissioner Timmy Lucas seconded. The motion passed unanimously among the commissioners recorded as present (Chairman Elmer Thrift, Burse, Barry Cox and Lucas). Commissioner Jon Tindall was recorded absent. The minutes record the public hearing as closed at 4:48 p.m.; the hearing header lists the scheduled start time as 5:00 p.m., a discrepancy reflected in the record.
