Saginaw County OKs sixth amendment to Saginaw Future funding agreement, not to exceed $250,000

The Saginaw County Board on Jan. 20 approved a sixth amendment to the county's funding agreement with Saginaw Future Inc., authorizing performance-based and metrics-driven support for economic development in FY2026.
Tom Miller Jr., president and CEO of Saginaw Future, and Steve Hensley, county community and economic development director, presented the request. Committee materials say the amendment covers the period Oct. 1, 2025 through Sept. 30, 2026 and requests $150,000 in metrics-based funding, an additional $50,000 for performance 25% above standard metrics, and continued assistance through an existing $50,000 general-fund appropriation — for a total not to exceed $250,000.
The County Services Committee recommended approval and Commissioner Michael A. Webster moved the board to approve the amendment; the motion carried. Committee materials list the amendment as supporting metrics-based funding, performance funding and direct services by Saginaw Future.
County staff will continue to manage oversight and report on performance metrics as outlined in the proposed amendment.
