Oceana County Board confirms planning and parks appointments, approves $902,511.52 in payments

By motion (MOTION #2025-06) moved by Commissioner Erickson and supported by Commissioner McCormick, the Board appointed Peter Roskam to fill the unexpired Planning Commission term of John Foss through Dec. 31, 2025; reappointed John Stivers and Scott Rumsey to three-year terms through Dec. 31, 2027; and appointed David Spitler to a three-year term through Dec. 31, 2027. In a separate motion (MOTION #2025-07) moved by Commissioner McCormick and supported by Commissioner Hardy, the Board reappointed Pete Lundborg to the Parks and Recreation Commission for a three-year term ending Dec. 31, 2027. Both personnel motions were approved by voice vote.
The Board also approved Motion #2025-08 (moved by Commissioner Hardy, supported by Commissioner Beggs) to release payments and accounts payable on Jan. 9, 2025. The claims list in the meeting record shows a grand total of $902,511.52, with major items including Indigent Defense ($29,262.73), General Fund disbursements ($798,994.03), Insurance (MMRMA, $46,189.89), and MSU Extension MOA payment ($37,696.50).
