Fairfield council approves RFP for north waterline extension and clears consent financials

The Fairfield Town Council on March 11 approved sending an RFP for a north waterline extension after staff confirmed an easement for the project and cleared related property issues.
Chair (S2) said an easement east of Strong's (the affected parcel) is ready to sign; council member S3 moved to approve sending the RFP and S1 seconded. The motion passed on an affirmative voice vote.
The council also approved consent-agenda financials for Dec. 31, 2025 and Jan. 31, 2026 after a motion and second. During budget discussion staff (S8) said the AIB/Inland loan for waterline work was approved last month but paperwork had not yet been signed.
At the meeting's close, a member moved to temporarily recess into a closed session to discuss pending or reasonably imminent litigation and potential purchase/exchange/lease of real property or proposed development agreements; the motion passed and the meeting noted the time at about 08:15.
Next steps: staff will proceed with the RFP issuance once the easement paperwork is finalized; closed-session items will be handled in the recess as permitted by law.
