City Manager Johnson presented plans and cost estimates for projects at the Soddy-Daisy Recreation Complex during a March 10 workshop.
Johnson distributed a printout showing a bridge to be constructed between the boys’ and girls’ fields and said staff is checking lead times. He also told the board that adding lights to Fields 5 and 6 would cost approximately $300,000. Commissioners and staff discussed possible funding sources and broader facility needs, including a hitting facility at Soddy-Daisy Middle School and a clubhouse/locker room for the Soddy-Daisy High School baseball team, but the workshop transcript records no funding decisions.
Johnson said he will provide updates when lead times and concrete costs are available; any capital spending would require formal action at a future meeting or budget process.
