Nemaha County board names Union Bank depository, creates drug-forfeiture fund and approves contingent payments

The Nemaha County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 16 adopted Resolution #2025-33 designating Union Bank & Trust as a depository for county funds and adopted Resolution #2025-34 creating Revenue Fund #2360, titled "Drug Law Enforcement Forfeiture." Commissioners Bryan Mellage and Michael Weiss sponsored the motions; both motions passed on roll-call votes with Commissioners Hall, Mellage and Weiss recorded as voting "aye."
The board approved the accounts payable claims as presented by County Clerk Diane Johnson and authorized payment. The minutes record the claims approval as a formal motion carried on a roll-call vote. A detailed list of approved claims appears in the meeting record (general, road and special funds).
Separately, the board approved five warrants/claims to be paid as obligations after receipt of NEMA (Nebraska Emergency Management Agency) funds for the Southeast PET Region. The items authorized contingent payment were: Midwest Card & ID Solutions ($16,307.38); John McKee ($190.23); Chad Korte ($190.23); Lancaster County EMA ($660.60); and Colt Farringer ($220.20). Each contingent-payment motion passed on recorded "aye" votes.
The board recorded the Treasurer's pledged securities report as of Nov. 30, 2025 in county officials' reports. The meeting adjourned at 10:35 a.m.
