Commissioner Bryan Mellage moved and Commissioner Mike Hall seconded a motion to adopt two subdivision resolutions: Resolution 2025-26 for Louis D. Stukenholtz (Sec 17 T6N R14E) and Resolution 2025-27 for Darla Stukenholtz (Sec 9 T6N R14E). Both resolutions passed on unanimous roll call votes.
The board opened sealed bids for a surplus 2016 Dodge Charger sheriff cruiser and accepted the high bid of $4,001.50 from Gary Nerison; Commissioner Mellage moved to accept the bid, Commissioner Hall seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Other approvals included a motion to record a warrant/claim as an obligation to pay the UNL Public Policy Center $3,000 after NEMA funds are received for the SE PET Region, and the board approved and signed a Building Entrance Agreement with SEGRA permitting installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment at the DHHS building.
Buildings-and-grounds work approved at the meeting included a quote of $800 to repair and paint courthouse entrances (Marty Wessels, county to supply materials) and a $3,600 quote from Lotter Tree Service to trim and remove trees and stumps on courthouse grounds contingent on proof of insurance. The board reviewed, but declined to adopt, a recommendation from Jerry Berggren about sinkholes around the courthouse.
The board noted routine county reports from the clerk, treasurer and sheriff and recorded receipt of $170,832.19 from FEMA (4420 DR NE PA) related to the 2019 disaster. With no further business, the board adjourned at 10:54 a.m.
