The Wichita Falls ISD Board accepted the district’s Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) racial profiling reporting data and related exemption.
Administration said WFISD filed an exemption to the TCOLE reporting requirement because district police do not routinely enforce traffic stops and instead focus on campus safety, parking lots and school property incidents. The TCOLE process requires agencies to report certain stop/search data or request an exemption; administration recommended the board accept the district’s submission.
A trustee moved to accept the TCOLE racial profiling report and the board approved the acceptance by voice vote. Trustees asked a few clarifying questions and received assurances about the district’s partnerships with municipal law enforcement for traffic enforcement when needed.
No further action was taken.
