The Wichita Falls Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve multiple administrative actions Tuesday night, including a $201,483.60 purchase of workbooks, consumables and multimedia licenses from Amplify for several elementary campuses.
Jeff Hill, director of elementary schools, told trustees the purchase covers workbooks and multimedia licenses for Burgess, Crockett, Cunningham, Fame, Ballard, Franklin, Jefferson, Neal, Miles, Scotland Park West and Zundy elementary campuses and complies with the district's purchasing rules and an existing RFP award. "This purchase is for workbook, consumables, and multimedia licenses," Hill said. The board approved the purchase 7-0.
In the same session trustees approved the district's targeted improvement plans as presented by Hill and recommended by the superintendent; approved a proposed applicant pool (with an addendum of one name to replace another); and accepted renewal of one‑year contracts for certified administrators and noncertified professionals. Each of those motions passed on unanimous voice votes.
After returning from closed session the board also voted to deny a level‑3 parent grievance, uphold the prior decision, and decline remedies not previously granted by administration. A board member stated the district will conduct both an internal audit and an external audit and receive the findings at the board level. "Because of you, we have also made the decision for internal audit and an external audit that will report their findings to the board," the board member said during the motion to deny the grievance.
Board discussion during the meeting touched on curriculum implementation and reported editor or content edits being processed by publishers; trustees asked questions about how curricular updates and errata are tracked and about teacher experience in using the new materials.
All recorded votes on action items were 7-0. No policy changes were made tonight beyond the approvals recorded; items requiring further administrative follow-up will return to the board as needed.
