Fulton County commissioners approve routine business, personnel moves and board appointments

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners handled routine administrative and personnel items at its Dec. 16 meeting, approving minutes, payables and a series of appointments and reappointments.
Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve the Dec. 9, 2025, Commissioners' meeting minutes and the Dec. 9 Retirement Board minutes; both motions were approved. Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve payables dated Dec. 16, 2025, totaling $281,921.91; the clerk recorded a fund-by-fund breakdown including $214,588.09 to the General Fund and $46,105.21 from Opioid Settlement Funds. Commissioner Hann also moved to dismiss a Domestic Relations employee effective Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, and to advertise internally and externally for an "Enforcement Officer 1"; the board approved both actions. "Motion by Commissioner Hann to dismiss a Domestic Relations employee, effective Monday, December 8, 2025," is recorded in the minutes.
Other approved actions included retroactive approval of a Momentive Software, Inc. renewal for the Fiscal Department at an annual price of $1,660.48; approval and execution of a Sheriff's Department request for physician services for an inmate at the Bedford County Correctional Facility; appointment of Thomas Peppernick to the Fulton County Industrial Development Authority Board of Directors for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2027; and reappointments of Margie McGuire, Paula Shives, Thomas Morton and Daniel Schriever to the Fulton County Agricultural Land Preservation Board through Dec. 31, 2027. Commissioner Bunch moved to approve the 2026 Commissioners' meeting dates for public advertisement in the Fulton County Newspaper; that motion also passed.
The board convened two short executive sessions for personnel matters (9:36–9:38 a.m. and 10:52–11:30 a.m.). A DCED Financial Monitoring Interview scheduled for 11:30 a.m. was canceled after DCED asked to meet with SEDA COG and the chief clerk instead. The meeting adjourned at 11:45 a.m.

Several personnel actions (including the dismissal) were recorded without additional public detail; the minutes do not include names for the dismissed employee or a hiring timeline for the advertised Enforcement Officer position.
