The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved an engagement letter with KB&S (Kulla, Barkdoll & Stewart, P.C.) to provide professional legal and consulting services for a review of the county Prothonotary's Office and later conducted interviews for the office.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve the engagement letter; the motion carried with recorded minutes indicating "All in favor." The minutes state the engagement is "to provide professional legal and consulting services related to a review of the Fulton County Prothonotary's Office." The board also held a tax appeal hearing at 9:20 a.m.; the minutes record that Commissioner Steven L. Wible abstained from the tax appeal due to a conflict of interest and that separate minutes are on file for that hearing.
In personnel business, commissioners entered executive session for personnel matters in the morning and again after the noon recess. After the morning session the board voted to appoint Commissioner Steven L. Wible to perform duties for committees assigned to a colleague who will begin medical leave; the appointment is to take effect when that medical leave begins. In the afternoon, the commissioners, the HR Administrator and the Chief Clerk conducted interviews for the Prothonotary's Office.
The minutes do not specify the scope or terms of the KB&S engagement beyond the review purpose, nor do they identify candidates interviewed or a hiring decision. Separate minutes or documents are noted for the tax appeal hearing and for other personnel details.
