The Fulton County Board of Commissioners held a CDBG project kickoff (via Zoom) for the Warfordsburg Senior Center project and approved related community engagement measures on Nov. 25.
The kickoff involved SEDA-COG Program Analyst Hanorah Lucas, Building and Maintenance Director Brad Seville, and Connie Brode, Executive Director of Huntingdon/Bedford/Fulton Area on Aging. The group discussed project steps for the Warfordsburg Senior Center under the county’s CDBG allocation; separate full minutes for the kickoff are on file.
Commissioners also approved a request from the Fulton County Association of Township Officials to plant a commemorative tree on the Fulton County Courthouse lawn to mark America250PA; the board authorized a letter naming Marty Mettille as the county’s America250PA advisor to coordinate local events. Both motions passed unanimously.
Why it matters: the CDBG kickoff launches a federally funded community project intended to support senior services in Warfordsburg, while the America250PA items formalize county participation in bicentennial commemoration planning and a symbolic tree planting on county property.
The meeting record shows the county will proceed with the project kickoff steps and the tree planting coordination; the appointment letter to America250PA is to be sent to Kelly Leighton, Director of Strategic Partnerships.
