Fulton County declares March 2026 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 24 approved and signed a proclamation declaring March 2026 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve and execute the proclamation recognizing "that Fulton County becomes a better place when people with and without disabilities come together to form strong, diverse communities, and knowing we are all One World, many Abilities!" The motion carried with the three commissioners recorded as voting "all in favor."
Local service providers and stakeholders attended the proclamation signing, including representatives from Occupational Services Inc., CRI, Full Circle Residence, Franklin/Fulton IDD Program Specialist Rebecca Weaver, The Arc of Franklin-Fulton Counties and Fulton County Human Services. A group photograph was taken with the commissioners following the proclamation's adoption.
The proclamation encourages public recognition of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in March 2026; no fiscal appropriation or directive tied to the proclamation is listed in the minutes.
