After public opposition, commissioners adopt nine new road names

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing Aug. 18 on proposed road names and adopted nine names after hearing two oppositions.
Commissioner Ben Adams opened the public hearing; Nancy Knox spoke in opposition to the proposed name Big Blue Mountain and Edwin Marvin opposed Bell Hill Ridge Drive. After public comment the board closed the hearing and, by unanimous vote, approved the following names: Bell Hill Ridge Drive; Certain Way; Grape Creek View Drive; Montego Way; Patriot Hollow Way; Pile Creek Road; Sandys Terrace; Sunset Creek Drive; and Taili Lane.
